I work in the automotive industry and most all of us dealerships post our “documentation fees” on our websites. I can’t seem to find a motorcycle dealership that posts their fees.

Couldn’t tell you about NC, but in Texas its all a matter of public record from the office of the (Texas) Secretary of State. I’m at least sure that NC has a similar registry requirement.

Is getting a motorcycle license and a bike a profoundly bad idea? I feel like the whole enterprise can only end in bodily harm. Would it be wiser up some other hobby, like knitting or flying kites?

Riding a motorcycle is about the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Sure there are risks but life is full of them. Ride with caution! Look out for the the other @#$hole they are the ones that are likely to cause you harm, most of the time because they do not see you. Remember “loud pipes save lives “Good Luck”
