If you have a large bike and like to go on long rides and trips, there are many accessories that are nice to have on your motorcycle. Leather saddle bags to carry stuff in are very handy, but the hard kind of storage are even better. Whatever you put in these doesn’t get wet in case a stray rain shower pops up. On trips for 2, the helmets with microphones in them are handy. You can actually hear each other talking about the sites along the road without having to scream at each other to be heard.
Heated seats come in quite handy also. If the mornings are cool when you start off on your trip, this makes it much more enjoyable and your tush will thank you, along with your riding companion.
Floorboards to allow your feet to naturally rest instead of getting uncomfortable on pegs are really nice and stylish. Some riders prefer the highway pegs for their comfort and a more natural position.
Sissy bars greatly increase the back riders comfort on long rides so they can stretch their back and sit further back in the seat. This also helps the driver to retain balance with a passenger that hasn’t ridden much because the passenger tends to lean less and keep their center of equilibrium in the center of the sissy bar.
A nice stereo that has volume increases with speed increases and decreases accordingly is a good accessory. Some bikes come with these, but the music enthusiast may want to consider an upgraded, more quality system.
Windshields and firings come in all sizes and shapes. Some prefer a larger windshield to better protect the face, especially if they wear a helmet without a face shield, or no helmet. The larger windshields do increase drag on the bike resulting in slightly lesser performance.
The cool head wraps are a big help in really hot weather. You wet them in cold water and wear them as a liner under your helmet. If you haven’t tried them, you’ll never believe the difference they make. They stay cold for hours.
