Ever spent some time drooling over the “photo shoot” bikes that appear on the front cover of ,well just about every motorcycle magazine on the market? I know I have.
Ever noticed what all these bikes have in common, from the super bike, to tricked out production cruisers, to the hand built custom jobs from West Coast Choppers or Arlen Ness? No? Well friend, take a look at the tasty motorcycle rims. Without exception all those motorcycles will have motorcycle rims to die for. Why do you think that is?
Well, to start with they make a huge impact on the look of the bike. And, secondly installing a set of custom rims is definitely the easiest and fastest (and usually the cheapest) way that you can begin down the road to totally tricking out your motorcycle. In fact it is so easy that just about anybody can do it themselves. There are no special tools that are required all.
Try this exercise. Take a pen and a piece of paper, sit down andlist all the ways you would like to customise your motorcycle. Then think about it and put a line through all the items that would either take too long or take the bike off the road for too much time or coast too much money. Paint job? dream on, its just not going to happen unkless you shell out a lot of cold hard cash.
Chroming the existing parts of your bike is another example of customisation that you are going to end up paying the earth foe, both in time and effort dismantling and cleaning the parts for chroming, before you send them off to a professional plater to get the job done.
Now, back to the motorcycle rims. There are a huge number of sites on the Internet where you can look for rims. Some of them have literally hundres of different styles. You will be spoiled for choice! You could spend hours looking through all the stock that they have available . You could also spend as much or as little as you like! Ebay is also an option. The prices are always pretty competitive, and (as long as you deal with a reputable seller) your wheels are going to arrive at your front door quickly and cheaply.
One word of warning, just be careful when selecting you new motorcycle rims, buying the wrong size could cost you quite a bit in shipping charges if you need to send them back.
So, if you are going to customize your bike with some new motorcycle parts, then launching your project off with a new set of ultra cool chrome motorcycle rims is an excellent place to start.
