Even Daytona’s 2XL looks smaller on my head than a Bell 500 XL. The Daytona does not stick-up high and give me a bobble-head look, and it’s very light. I could wear it all day without neck stress. This review is ONLY based of my own experiences, and my OWN opinions.

~ Five Forms Of Motorbike Helmets

Motorbike headgear are of 5 types and are secured for the rider's head by using a chin strap. The intention of using them along with their protective benefits are defeated if chin strap just isn't secured.

Full Face Helmet: The total face helmet covers the whole head up to the skull base and is easily the most protective of all the helmets. It possesses a swiveling cutout band, termed as a visor, made of transparent plastic through the front of the eyes and nose. Some helmets have vents for increased airflow. The disadvantages are decreased hearing, intense heat, and deficiency of wind. Full-face helmets that are frequently used for motocross or off-road rides tend not to sometimes use a face shield though the visor and chin portions are extended. Head gear with less coverage is less safe.

Off-Road/Motocross Helmets: Mototcross/Off-road helmets have extended visor and chin portions. The lack of a face shield allows the rider to use goggles and allow more airflow that is needed during strenuous off-road rides. The visor protects the rider's eyes from flying debris and keeps the sun's rays's glare off of the rider's eyes during jumps.

Though off-road helmets was lacking a chin bar earlier on, modern off-road helmets use a chin bar to safeguard the eye from impact during crashes. By such helmets as well as goggles, the equivalent protection as from full face helmets may be accomplished.

Modular/Flip-Up Helmets: Best known through the name convertible, the modular helmet can be a hybrid involving the full face and open face street helmet. The chin bar is with a pivot and could be moved upwards to resemble an empty face helmet.
