Landed on my head after a lowside fall and slid 40ft on my face. The helmet is pretty well destroyed, but my head was fine. If that doesn’t deserve 5 stars, what possibly could?

Good helmet, worth the money–a good buy, but not truly strong protection on the jaw

I just bought this helmet and have taken it on a few good long rides and am most pleased with it. I’m an experienced sport rider and needed a new helmet to replace my ancient SHOEI RF700 helmet that I’ve had since the mid 90s. I wanted a modular helmet and this one was perfectly priced and has a great flip-down internal set of sunglasses that just works like a champ and so far I’m really happy with things. It is not overly noisy at all, but I did notice perhaps a bit more air around the ears than I’m used to with my SHOEI, but I wouldn’t say it was noisy at all. I would say it is ‘standard’ where noise control is concerned, and most definitely not what I would call overly quiet. It’s just…normal, where noise is concerned. I ride very fast and aggressively and like my over 100mph speed a LOT, and the helmet (size XL) stayed snug and stable and steady as a rock. The snap down sunglasses do come a bit low and touch the brim of my nose, but I’ll dremel that back a bit and it should be fine. The visor is great and the modular functionality is superb. It really locks into place and feels great.

Good Helmet — It does have a tendency to fog however

I bought this helmet from Harley-Davidson and the only difference is that it says “Harley-Davidson” on each side of the chin… that cost me about $60 more than this price (pretty silly huh?) Pays to shop — I know that. I was leaving with a bike though and needed something on the spot and this happens to be Harley-Davidson’s re-branded top-of-the-line helmet in full-face-modular.

I ordered a medium. Medium fits 71/8-71/4″ heads. I have worn a 7 1/8″ hat for over 15 years in the army and this thing was TIGHT. No way a 7 1/4 is going to fit well. I used the back of spoon and my thumb to compact the Styrofoam inside a bit and it fits great now. I like the concept of the inner tinted visor but it needs some redesign to be great. 1: use a good hard plastic. It is flimsy and there is a slight distortion (very slight) in the plastic they use. Not enough to affect visual comfort or clarity. 2. Make the inner visor fit forward of the nose. Pretty sure if I ever crashed it would cut the tip of my nose off. May take a dremel to it to make it fit better. (No, I do not have huge honker). Lowering the face unit (not visor) takes a bit of force. It “locks” into position pretty tight. Visor is clear and closes solidly. A little wind noise but not bad. Good helmet for the money. Head size 7 1/4 may have a hard time gettng a good fit. Suggest a large.

Nice helmet for the price

They say there are 5 basic human head shapes. With in each of those 5 categories, there are sub shapes. My big, fat melon of a head MUST be new because the 3XL I bought fits “ok” but that’s it. Try to find a modular helmet in 3XL. I found 2 manufactures. Different helmet manufactures make helmets to fit different types of heads.

Love It!

This is a great helmet – fits well – comfortable – soft interior. Bought them to match the trike (one for husband as well). The Scala Rider sets fit wonderfully on the helmet and cannot wait for the warm weather to start riding.

I crashed at 50mph and didn’t feel a thing!

No seriously, I was rounding a curve at about 50 – too fast – wearing this exact helmet that I just bought today. I had the black model, 3X. My bike – a Yamaha Star Stryker – slid about 50 feet as I was thrown to the left of it and rolled about ten times before coming to a stop. My ankles are pretty beat up, but I remember specifically thinking as I rolled that I didn’t feel any pain whatsoever in my head! Now THAT’s the best test of a helmet!! Had I been wearing my half helmet my whole face would have been beat to hell.

Amazing. So I was in a position where my local shops were out of stock of most anything for my XL bean, I was able too try this helmet on at the local Harley dealership after reading other reviews, it really is the exact same as the HD modular, just cheaper!

Modular is great!

I went for a ride and it is quieter than my 3/4 HJC helmet. Only has two air vents in the top and not sure how thats going to work out in the south. But, you can remove the liner and ear pieces to clean them unlike the cheap 3/4 HJC I have. I added some reflective decals and a Sena blue tooth and I am ready to go and still stay in touch with the family.

Good features, but lots of wind noise.

I like its features, but when riding at speed 65 mph or more, it catches a lot of wind noise and there are some rattling noises from what I think is the sun shade control on the top back. As I haven’t used any other helmets in many years, I have nothing to compare it to, but I would like to compare it to a solid full face helmet, to compare the amount of noise it generates at higher speeds. I would appreciate anybody eases comments on these issues. And would also like comments form the manufacturer.
