First, I love my RF-1100. Comfortable, adjustable, dead quiet when locked, it has made riding a pleasure. I have zero complaints about it, and recommend it for anyone looking to buy a good helmet. I know people say you can get a good helmet for $50, and I had one before — the upgrade, to be honest, is worth the cost.

I purchased the helmet due to the Snell 2010 rating and excellent graphics. I have the conqueror in red. My other helmets are an AGV S4 and an AGV K3. The RF 1100 good points includes piece of mind with the Snell 2010 rating, safety first. The fit is very, very good with the liner coming down fairly low on the forehead as well which feel fine.I rode in 100 degree weather and the ventillation system was very good with the liner wicking up all sweat. The visor assembly is fantastic with a high quality feel and positive detents, it sounds and feels like a very high quality piece. The seal is excellent as well. The ear pockets are also excellent, allows a great fit for safety and still relieves a fair amount of pressure around the ears. The ear pockets also allow you to hear a bit more and better as well without adding excess noise. The strap system is a bit wider than normal so it is easy to get your strap secure and tightened down with a clip to keep the extra bits from whipping around at speed.I wear glasses. The helmet is hands down the best design I have ever experienced for glasses. The helmet has two built in channels so you can easily slide your glasses over your ears when the helmet is on, like magic and no twisting your glass frames. I love that. The CW-1 mirror visor is huge but rather expensive but completely worth the money. It works extremely well even in bright desert sun and makes for no distortion. It is perfect. The RF 1100 draw backs are minor. The visor should be adjusted by a dealer when you get your new helmet. The dealer has a factory shield template that allows for exact positioning of the base plate to completely eliminate any wind noise through the shield, impressive. The liner is great but absolutly loves to hook up with velcro. So, if you stick your gloves in your helmet when stopped, like I tend to do, you will find that glove velcro sticks like mad and can pull the liner off the EPS shield making you snap the liner it back in place. A pain, but you can work around this by carefuly placing you glove in the helmet. All in all an excellent helmet.

I bought this helmet as a replacement for my old Bell motorcycle helmet. This helmet far exceeds the Bell and my expectations. Wind noise is cut greatly and the fit of the helmet is much better. The production quality is great. I went with flat black and am really glad I made that choice.

Great helmet, worth the price

At first I was a little hesitant to spend $400+ on a helmet. My first helmet I got was a Scorpion EXO-700, then a Scorpion EXO-1000, then a Shoei RF-1000, and now a Shoei RF-1100. This is a great helmet and worth the investment. The air flow is definitely better than the previous Scorpions I had and simiar to the RF-1000. Wind noise does increase with more vents but it was still quieter than my Scorpions.

I did my research and read many reviews on this helmet. The video demo on uTube really sold me on this helmet. I have never owned a full face and have worried about visibility issues with full faced helmets. No problems with visibility here. Well designed, vents work great. I rode home today in 101 F heat and only slightly sweated. Noise is greatly reduced, I can actually here the rumble of V-twin 1100 with factpry exhaust now at highway speed versus wind noise. The shield is easy to work and I rate this helmet 5 stars without a doubt. I have a 15 mile stretch of interstate (70 mph limit) on my way to and from work and this thing makes the ride so much more enjoyable. The price is what I expected. Getting ready to order a smoke shield for the sunny days.

Wow. So glad I bought this!

This Helmet is impressive. Quiet, light, and extremely comfortable. I like to listen to music while riding. Ear buds fit nicely while wearing helmet. No ear pressure or pain whatsoever. Helmet noise is comfortable so I can hear music at lower levels and still hear ambient road noise and vehicles in my vicinity. Music is clear and undistorted for the most part without annoying buzz or wind-flap. I have used this helmet without ear plugs and was pleasantly surprised at the comfortable noise levels. Took it on a road trip to Vegas. 90+mph without a windshield no problem. Aerodynamics are very good on this baby..in fact I’d venture to say, better than any other helmet I have tried at this price range. I love the integrated foil design and the shape is so nice. Had many compliments already on my sweet helmet. Vegas was 106 degrees and I had no issues with heat. Plenty of ventilation. I only had mild sweating when I was sitting still. 4 rear vents not only look cool but are highly effective. My head was dry most of the time. Padding fits like a champ. I love this helmet. Best helmet I have ever worn. Buy it. You won’t regret your choice.

Yes!

The red matches the Candy Apple Red of my Sportster. The helmet itself was so comfortable and the vents were (initially confusing, but) located in the right places. I don’t know why I hadn’t replaced my helmet earlier. This was also much lighter than my earlier helmet, which I would have bought sometime in the 90’s. My husband bought the same helmet, different color, because I raved about this one so much.

I guess I have a tall narrow head, after trying a couple other brands, I’m back for another rf-1100, because it fits so well. Can’t offer much insight, as it’s the only full face helmet I’ve worn on the freeway.

~ Five Types Of Motorbike Headgear

Motorbike headgear are of five types and so are secured towards the rider's head by using a chin strap. The goal of putting them on and their protective benefits are defeated if chin strap is just not secured.

Full Face Motorcycle Helmet: The entire face helmet covers the complete head approximately the skull base and is among the most protective of all the helmets. It has a swiveling cutout band, called a visor, made of transparent plastic through the front with the eyes and nose. Some helmets include vents for increased airflow. The disadvantages are decreased hearing, intense heat, and deficiency of wind. Full-face helmets that are frequently used for motocross or off-road rides don't sometimes have a face shield nevertheless the visor and chin portions are extended. Head gear with less coverage is less safe.

Off-Road/Motocross Motorcycle Helmets: Mototcross/Off-road Motorcycle helmets have extended visor and chin portions. The lack of a face shield permits the rider to utilize goggles and invite more airflow that's required during strenuous off-road rides. The visor protects the rider's eyes from flying debris and keeps the sun's glare off of the rider's eyes during jumps.

Though off-road helmets did not have a chin bar previously, modern off-road helmets have a chin bar to safeguard the eye from impact during crashes. By using such helmets together with goggles, the same amount of protection as from full face helmets is possible.

Modular/Flip-Up Motorcycle Helmets: Best known by the name convertible, the modular helmet is a hybrid involving the full face and open face street helmet. The chin bar is on the pivot and is moved upwards to resemble a wide open face helmet. The person wearing the helmet may thus be capable of eat and drink and never have to eliminate the chinstrap. They are liked by motor officers that are moving around.

Modular Motorcycle helmets are often kept closed while riding along with the chin bar is kept up only when not riding the motorcycle. When the helmet is kept on view position while riding, the chance of neck injury is greatly increased in the event of an accident. However, those modular helmets that are dual certified as full face and open face helmets offer a great degree of protection even if used in the open mode.

Open Face Motorcycle Helmet: Outdoors face Motorcycle helmets cover the back with the head, the ears along with the cheeks but do not hold the chin bar that the full face helmet possesses. Many of them have provisions for visors to become
